The brilliant fall colors are appearing on the mountains surrounding Snowmass Village. Now’s the time for a fall getaway. View the vibrant foliage, feel the warm autumn sun on your face, and fit in as many outdoor activities as you can. Your fall vacation is planned with these 5 fun ways to enjoy fall in Snowmass.
1 ― Leaf Peeping Just Outside Your Door
The aspen trees begin turning into a vibrant yellow this time of year. See the glory of this natural phenomenon in person. The great thing about leaf peeping is that you don’t have to venture far to enjoy the fall foliage. Just step outside, and you’ll witness the beauty.
2 ― Hiking on Snowmass Mountain
Go for a hike on Snowmass Mountain. Ride to the top of Elk Camp, at 11,325 feet; then, enjoy a pleasant, downhill hike on the Summit Trail and Sierra Club Loop. Pause during your descent to smell the fresh, mountain air, and take in the views.
3 ― Mountain Biking on Snowmass Mountain
Experience Snowmass Mountain trails on two wheels. The Elk Camp Gondola will operate on weekends through October 2, so there’s still plenty of time to get some riding in! Remaining weekends are September 24–25 and October 1–2. Pack more downhill thrills into your summer riding season, or head out for your first mountain biking excursion. There’s a trail on Snowmass for all levels.
4 ― Golfing at Aspen Golf Course
The Aspen Golf Course will test your mettle as a golfer, so prepare yourself for a challenging, but fun, 18 holes!
5 ― Spa Day at the Viceroy Spa
Take the time to soak in all of the fun and excitement of your fall vacation. It’s your vacation, after all, which means that you deserve some serious downtime. Ask our concierge for assistance booking a rejuvenating spa day at the Viceroy Spa. The Viceroy is open through October 30, 2016.
