The Meeting.Aspen Filmfest
On October 3-5, this annual Filmfest returns, always highly anticipated by creatives and community members alike. Gather with a diverse group of professionals at the 15th annual season of this film festival to be filled with all kinds of cinema creation. Allow the collection to build excitement within you for this years ski & snowboard season.
John Denver Celebration
On Saturday October 12th, 2019 join long time locals and visitors alike in the 22nd Anniversary Musical Tribute to John Denver. This annual event will take place at the Wheeler Opera House where performers will honor John Denver.
Bud Light Curling Sessions
On December 13th, 20th, and 27th from 3-5 pm, teams of 2 will gather at the ice rink in The Base Village Plaza for the second annual “Game of Stones”. Sign up as a team or come watch to be apart of such a fun, unique event.
Santa’s Village and Carolers
This December 21st – 24th, come to the Base Village or Snowmass Mall and hear the sounds of Christmas as carolers sing in the afternoons while Santa is available for complimentary photos.
2020 New Year’s Torchlight Parade and Fireworks
On New Year’s Eve, December 31st, Snowmass will begin an annual tradition at 6:00 pm. Skiers or snowboarders as young as 8 are permitted to join in the torch light parade on Snowmass Mountain. Later on in the evening, there will be a magnificent illumination of fireworks across the mountain, bringing color to the snowy scene below.
Torah Bright Minishred
On January 11th this year, from 9 am – 3 pm Makaha Park at Snowmass is hosting this incredible neat opportunity. Registration is required for this event, but it is free for ages 7-17! Olympic and Xgame Medalist, as well as Aspen Snowmass ambassador Torah Bright is offering her time and expertise to young people who are growing in their snow sport skills. Come, enjoy Snowmass, and learn from a professional.
Aspen Gay Ski Week
January 12-19th, 2020 is this years Gay Ski Week in Aspen Snowmass. The whole week is filled with various events, from evening parties, downhill costume contests, shopping and more! Join others for the fun during this week in the High Rockies of Colorado.
Bud Light Curling Sessions

The Mother of all Ascensions
February 25th, 2020 will be an early and thrilling morning for those participating in this annual event. The Mother of all Ascensions is an inspirational uphill race taking place from the Base Village Plaza at the bottom of Fanny Hill to the Gwyn’s High Alpine Restaurant. Whether you choose to wear hiking boots, snow shoes or an alpine ski setup, come join us for a memorable time from 5:45 am – 10 am.
Audi Power of Four Ski Mountaineering Race
Teams of athletes with impressive endurance take on this difficult ski-mountaineering race, covering 24 miles and over 10,000 vertical feet. March 2nd
Mardi Gras Celebration & Fireworks
Beginning with an uphill race at 7 am, this all day event is well known as it is a 36-year tradition. The classic afternoon bead toss is followed by an evening concert in SBV. A firework finale is the only right way to cap off this event at 7 pm on March 5th.
Moonlit Trek & Dinner
Let the moonlight guide you on an evening snowshoe or cross-country ski tour around the Snowmass Golf Course followed by a dinner at Black Saddle Bar & Grille on March 16th from 5:30 pm – 9:00 pm.
Happy Hour — New Belgium Ranger Station
From 3-6 pm, the New Belgium Ranger Station hosts a lively happy hour, including $2 off drafts and $1 off wine and wells. Food specials are offered as well, so come visit and enjoy a relaxing afternoon at the Ranger Station any day in April.
Red Bull Homerun
Join many others in this fun event of skiing or boarding down a marked course – followed by the apres ski party of the season. Elk Camp hosts with live music, drinks, and a lively atmosphere on the patio. April 13th

To celebrate Closing Weekend, the Snowmass Spring Fling brings parties on-mountain that are remembered for many days after. Themed parties also occur at different locations around the mountain so make sure you plan your outfit accordingly. April 20

For the first time, Spartan brings a course to Snowmass! There are 3 distances to choose from– the 30-mile Ultra, 13-mile Beast, or 3- mile Sprint. There will also be a kids race for youth, ages 4-13. The Snowmass Ski Area will become taken over by Spartan challengers while anyone is welcome to come and indulge in the festivities and spectate. Audi Power of Four MTB Race
For the 9th year in a row, Snowmass hosts the Audi Power of Four Mountain Bike race. This years course takes place over a 25-mile loop that both begins & ends in Snowmass with incredible vista scenes at every turn. August 17th
Vida MTB Series Women’s Skills Clinic
If you’re interested in becoming a better mountain biker, this series focuses on improving the skills and confidence of those who attend. VIDA claims its value toward connecting within a community aspect of learning, rather than simply presenting tips through a clinic. Come experience mountain biking in a more holistic way and you’ll most likely leave with a few more friends. August 17-18
Big Mountain Enduro
This year Aspen Snowmass is hosting the BME Finals, a two-day event. Professional bikers come from all over to compete in a combination of bike park terrain and extreme mountain trails. Riders are expecting to see 6 stages and both climbing and descending throughout this event. Come witness some of the most impressive mountain biking in the country. August 17-20
JAS Aspen Snowmass Labor Day Experience
Don’t miss this three day music festival that arrives with much anticipation. Multiple stages will host well known bands while a variety of food and drink will be available. Snowmass Balloon Festival
One of the highest-altitude hot air balloon events in the country takes place in Snowmass over these three days. Different competitions are held for those who pilot the balloons while people come from all over to take in such an incredible sight. The event is free for all ages and open to anyone. September 6-8
Enjoy Balloon Fest in the morning, Cidermass throughout the afternoon, and Septemberfest in the evening. The Cidermass event occurs as its 2nd annual appearance. Between 20 and 30 cider vendors bring their best to this event, making for a delightful afternoon of hard-cider tastings. September 7th

CU in Snowmass
This years events bring competition of collegiate athletes from the University of Colorado on September 28-29. The events will be short track, downhill, cross-country, and enduro racing, all of which are free and spectators are encouraged and welcomed.
Golden Leaf Half Marathon
One of the most scenic races in the country, the Rocky Mountain terrain keeps competitors entertained throughout the 13.1 mile traverse from Snowmass Village to Aspen. September 28th
